The break could be a good fit for...
- back sleepers. The Lull mattress is a little firmer than average and offers an excellent balance of comfort and support, so back sleepers should feel their hips sink in just the right amount while the mattress supports the rest of their body.
- stomach sleeper. Being firmer than average, Lull should be great for people who sleep mostly on their stomachs. The comfort layer of the Lull mattress isn't incredibly thick, and sleepers should feel the support of the base layer when lying on their stomach.
- Fans of firmer mattresses. If for some reason someone likes afirm mattress, the Lull should work for them; It's not extremely firm, but it provides the support and rebound people are looking for in a firmer mattress.
- Those looking for an inexpensive mattress. No one wants to break the bank when buying a mattress - anyone trying to save money on a mattress purchase should consider the Lull as they currently have current offers and discounts for a queen size under $1000 costs.
The break might not go well with...
- side sleepers. Those who sleep on their side want to choose a softer mattress that takes the pressure off their shoulders and hips. The Lull is firmer than average and its comfort layer isn't too thick, so side sleepers might feel some pressure in those specific areas. Visit thebest mattresses for side sleepersinstead of this.
- Fans of softer mattresses. For people who prefer a softer mattress, the Lull mattress will likely be too firm. Again, the comfort layer is fairly thin, so anyone wanting a softer mattress should be able to find something with a thicker layer of soft comfort material right on top.
- heavier people. Those who are on the larger side may need to find a more supportive mattress and, if side sleeping, something with a much thicker comfort layer.
construction overview
- The Lull mattress is10" hoch.
- The cover of the Lull is soft, thin and shouldn't affect the feel of the mattress too much.
- The first layer of the Lull is 1.5 inches of gel-infusedmemory foam.
- Underneath is a 1.5-inch foam transition layer.
- The base consists of 7 inchesdurable support foam.
Construction Snack
- The foam transition layer is designed to help transition sleepers from the soft top layer to the firm support layer - it's firmer than the top layer and toomore responsive, so it should prevent sleepers from getting stuck in the Lull mattress.
- At the same time, the gel memory foam layer is also quite responsive and doesn't move quite as slowly as other types of memory foam. These two top layers give the Lull mattress a more balanced foam feel that has a bit of the sink-in of memory foam but doesn't make it difficult for sleepers to reposition at night.
- While more responsive, the gel memory foam layer should provide some pressure relief for lighter side sleepers. It sags slightly for lighter sleepers and should cushion shoulders and hips, but taller side sleepers may not get the best pressure relief as they could push right through the thinner comfort layer and hit the base layer underneath.
- The gel infusion in the memory foam should keep the top of the mattress from feeling extremely hot - memory foam is known for trapping heat, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem with the Lull mattress.

Lull mattress vs Casper mattress
Anyone considering the Lull mattress might want to know how it compares to one of its main competitors, the mattressCasper mattress. While the Lull and Casper are both full-foam mattresses, they have a few notable differences.
First of all, the Casper contains four layers of foam, while the Lull only contains three and the Casper has oneproprietäres Zoned Support-Systemthis makes the center of the mattress firmer than the head and foot. This means the Casper feels firmer when people sleep on their stomachs and backs, and softer when they sleep on their sides.
The Casper will be better suited for side sleepers as it is softer overall and is softer especially under the shoulder area. It's also a more luxurious mattress and while it costs more, the Casper could be onebetter long-term investmentas the Lulle.
The Lull, on the other hand, should be an excellent fit for back and side sleepers who want to save on mattress purchases. Also, the Lull mattress is firmer than the Casper and should provide enough support for both back and stomach sleeping.

Lull firmness and feeling
In terms of strength, the Lull is around a7/10, just a little firmer than average; The gel memory foam and transition layers are fairly soft and easy to push in, but then I hit the firmer base support foam. However, heavier sleepers might find the Lull to be significantly firmer as the 3″ comfort material will sink them in.
In my experience, the Lull is one of theThe best mattresses for back sleepersbecause it offers a nice balance of comfort and support. The supportive foam keeps me upright, but the comfort layers let me sink in, but not too far, and the gel memory foam really conforms to the shape and curves of my body.
When I lie on the Lull, the mattress is a bit too hard and I don't feel particularly comfortable. The transition layer keeps me from fully hitting the support layer, but Ineed a softer mattressto give me the pressure relief I really need on my shoulders and hips.
When I sleep on my stomach, the lull gives me the support I need so my hips don't sink in at all. Again, the Lull is firmer than average and I feel like I'm getting even support across my body.
Overall, the Lull mattress has onebalanced foam feelingthat's both comfortable and responsive. Although the mattress features memory foam, it is more responsive, so people shouldn't get stuck in the mattress or have trouble moving.
Lull-Motion-Transfer
When purchasing a mattress, couples want to keep motion transmission in mind because a mattress that reduces motion transmission should ensure both partners get a good night's sleep.
Memory foam is one of the best materialsfor handling motion transfer, and the Lull has memory foam directly on top. To test how effective this memory foam is, I placed a glass of water in the center of the mattress - when I pressed into the other areas of the mattress, the water showed no significant interference.
To see the motion transfer firsthand, I lay on the lull and asked Marten to get in and out of bed on the other side. He sat on the edge, switched positions and rolled over a bit, but Idid not feel these movementsTransfer to my side of the Lull mattress.
Considering all of this, the Lull could be oneGood mattress for couples.
Lull Edge support
Couples will want tooThink of the edge supportwhen choosing a mattress - when a mattress has strong edge support, both partners can sleep on the edge and really utilize every square inch of the mattress.
When I sit on the edge of the Lull, the top layers of foam collapse, but I don't feel like I'm falling forward when I bend over to tie my shoes. Even when I lie down on the edge of the mattress, the Lull doesn't collapse or make me feel like I'm rolling onto the floor.
The Lull mattressThe edge support is really impressive.
Heavyweight Sleepers - over 230 lbs
It's always a good idea to consider your height and weight when purchasing a mattress. Given that I weigh 160 pounds, I wanted to get a taller person's perspective to see how the Lull worked for them, so I asked Marten, who weighs 250 pounds, to try the Lull for himself.
In terms of firmness, Joe said the Lull was a 7/10 but I thought it was an 8/10. This is because I'm a taller person and I dig further into the mattress and interact more with the support layers beneath the thin comfort layer.
Back sleeping on the Lull mattress really feels amazing; my hips sink just the right amount and the mattress supports my larger body. At the same time, the memory foam top layer provides some contouring and also presses into and supports my lumbar area.
When I sleep on my side I feel even more pressure on my shoulders and hips than Joe felt. I fall through the comfort layers and my shoulders and hips really drive into the support layers underneath.
When I end up sleeping on my stomach, the mattress isn't supportive enough for me and I feel like I'm bending into the mattress toward my core. Except while I'm sleeping again, the Lull isn't the oneBest mattress for heavy people.
Unpacking the Lull mattress
The Lull mattress comes in a cardboard box and arrives at the front door. While it's not an extremely heavy mattress, it's still a particularly good ideaask for a friend's helpTransport inside and to the bedroom.
Once the mattress is in the bedroom, it's time to open the box - take out the rolled up mattress and place it on the foundation or bed frame. Now carefully cut through the multiple layers of plastic until the mattress is able to fully expand - make sure it doesn'tcut too lowand damage the mattress!
Finally, simply remove all plastic and packaging materials and allow the Lull mattress 24 to 48 hours to expand and outgas.

- The Lull is firmer than average and is a great fit for stomach and back sleepers.
- The mattress has a balanced foam feel that lets the sleeper sink in a littlewithout getting stuck.

frequently asked Questions
How long does the Lull mattress last?
The lifespan of the Lull is highly dependent on the size and weight of the owner, how often they use it, and how often they maintain the mattress. That being said, most Lull mattresses should last between five and seven years.
Is the Lull mattress suitable for side sleeping?
The Lull mattress is not the best choice for side sleeping as it is firmer than average and side sleepers can feel a lot of pressure on their shoulders and hips when lying down. The mattress is much more suitable for back and stomach sleepers.
Which is better, the Lull or Purple mattress?
While no mattress is necessarily "better," the Purple has more going for it than the Lull - it's a more durable mattress that should be a better long-term investment, and it's very breathable, making it better suited for hot sleepers. However, this makes the Purple more expensive than the Lull mattress. The Lull mattress should be firm enough for most back and stomach sleepers, so anyone who sleeps in these positions can save some money with the Lull.
Do you need a box spring bed for the Lull mattress?
The Lull mattress does not require a box spring and can be placed on any flat surface such as a bed frame or foundation.

What happens if you sleep on a new mattress too soon? ›The truth is, it shouldn't damage a quality mattress if you go against the 24-hour rule and sleep on it a couple of hours after unboxing. The rule mostly exists to make sure you get a good night's sleep on your mattress, as the bed is hardly at its most comfortable when it's still expanding.

If you put your full body weight on the mattress too soon, it can prevent the mattress from properly expanding and leave you tossing and turning.

Best Month to Buy a New Bed
May is truly the best month to purchase your mattress, and the reason for that is fairly simple. The industry, as a whole, usually rolls out the new products in June and they are hot throughout September. So, when May comes, the companies want to clean out their older models.
Latex mattresses tend to last the longest, followed by beds made using high-density memory foams or polyfoams. Lower-density foam beds wear out a bit quicker, as do hybrid models. Traditional innerspring beds generally have the shortest expected lifespan, at approximately five and a half to six and a half years.
What is the best mattress for back pain hard or soft? ›When in Doubt, Go 'Medium-Firm' Research is limited, but in one study, researchers assigned new mattresses to more than 300 people with low back pain. They used either "medium-firm" or "firm" mattresses for 90 days. Those in the medium group reported the least amount of discomfort.
Can you flip a Lull mattress? ›No, you should not flip a Lull mattress. The support layer is on the bottom, so if you did flip it, you'd be sleeping on a super-firm surface. If you're worried about wear, aim to rotate your mattress 180 degrees approximately every six months.
Why do nectar mattresses sag? ›With time, the foundation tends to wear and tear, causing the mattress to sag. Foundations with less than six legs can also lead to premature mattress sagging on one side. Foundations that use slats can also lead to a sunken bed in areas between the slats.
Is lull good for hot sleepers? ›Gel helps wick heat away to keep the surface cooler, so the Lull may be a good option for sleepers who tend to sleep hot but enjoy the hug of memory foam. Because of its relatively thin comfort layer, the Lull's edge may feel sturdier than many other models that are constructed of foam.
How firm are Lull mattresses? ›
In terms of firmness, the Lull is around a 7/10, just a tad firmer-than-average; the gel memory foam and transition layers are quite soft and easy to press into, but then I hit the firmer base support foam.
Can you use a boxspring with a Lull mattress? ›You can use your Lull on any platform bed or box spring. We suggest a surface that allows for air ventilation to prevent mold.
How long has Lull mattress been in business? ›Lull was founded in 2015. They manufacture sleep products, including one bed-in-a-box mattress, pillows, and sheets. Currently, you can only buy Lull mattresses online through the Lull website and Amazon.
